<a href="https://lex.uz/uz/pdfs/5884584">According to the resolution</a>, in 2022, water use efficiency will be increased through the introduction of water-saving technologies on 478 thousand hectares.
Accordingly, by the end of 2022, at least in the country:
Drip irrigation of 230,000 hectares, including 160,000 hectares of cotton fields; Irrigation of 28,000 hectares, including 25,000 hectares of cereals; Discrete irrigation systems will be introduced on 2,000 hectares of agricultural land; 218,000 hectares of arable land will be leveled using laser equipment.
According to the resolution, to cover part of the costs for the introduction of irrigation technologies from 2022, including the following subsidies per hectare of drip irrigation:
for cotton fields - 8 million soums (12 million soums for drip irrigation systems introduced in the cotton fields of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region); for vegetable and potato fields - 1.5 million soums; for melons - 1.3 million soums; 2.5 million soums for food, oilseeds, legumes and medicinal plants; for fruit crops - 6 million soums; for vineyards - 8 million soums.
Subsidy funds, the amount of which is calculated:
50 percent is allocated in the year the system is introduced; 50 per cent will be allocated next year depending on productivity growth and equipment utilization; an additional 20 percent will be paid to high-yielding cotton, grain, and fruit and vegetable clusters using the system introduced in the third year.
Subsidies will be provided provided that water-saving irrigation systems are in place for at least 5 years.
Lands with water-saving technologies will not be optimized for at least 5 years, and the withdrawal of a plot of land or part of it for state and public needs will be allowed only after the land user's consent has been fully reimbursed.
In 2022, 1,182.4 billion soums will be allocated from the national budget to support the introduction of water-saving technologies.
According to the decision, a single electronic register of contractors "Tomchi-Register" will be developed.
By March 10, 2022, a single information system "Agro-subsidy" will be introduced to collect, review and agree with the competent authorities and organizations on the issuance of subsidies to agricultural producers who have introduced water-saving technologies.
